Merchant Ivory in India: Autobiography of a Princess

On the anniversary of her father's death, an Indian princess (Madhur Jaffrey) celebrates his memory in her London apartment by having tea and showing a selection of home movies to her father's old tutor (James Mason).

Mahatma and the Mad Boy
(Directed by Ismail Merchant, India, 1974, 27 min.)
A wandering vagrant youth (Sajid Khan) scavenges for food with his monkey and holds conversations with a statue of Gandhi. But soon the boy comes too close to a group celebrating Gandhi's concepts of love and brotherhood.
