| 9/4/1984 | Air Chief Marshal L. M. Katre, PVSM, AVSM and Bar, became the Air Officer Commanding, India Command. He was in this office till 01/07/1985. |
| 10/1/1932 | Indian Milatary Academy became functional with Brigadier LP Collins, DSO, OBE as the Commandant. The first course of 40 GCs had on its rolls Sam Manekshaw, Smith Dun and Mohd Musa, later to be Chiefs of the armies of their respective countries, i.e. India, Burma (now Myanmar) and Pakistan. This training was for a period of two and a half years. |
| 10/2/1906 | Raja Ravi Verma died at Attingal near Trivandrum, Kerala. He is remembered for his artistic work in 'Ram Panchayatan', 'Vishwamitra-Menaka', 'Shakuntala writing a letter', 'Shiv Parvati'. A commemorative stamp was issued by the Postal Department on April 29, 1971 in his honour. |
