4/26/1858Kunwar Singh, revolutionary of Indian mutiny and freedom fighter, passed away. He fought his last battle near Jagdishpur, Bihar on April 23, 1858 and defeated the Britishers but was deeply wounded. He also organised the national rebels.
6/18/1995The latest deaths in northern India's hottest weather this century bring the death toll to 525 as temperatures hit 113¦F (45¦C) in New Delhi.
2/1/1901Six language penel were started on the Rs. five dinomination. These notes were single sided and the back side could be used for accounting purposes. The six languages were Urdu, Bengali, Telugu, Kaithi, Kannada and Tamil. The paper used for printing was white hand made and moulded.
