7/15/1991The 25-day-old Narasimha Rao government wins a vote of confidence in Lok Sabha by securing 241 to 111; 112 abstained.
11/24/1932The Third Round Table Conference ended in London. As Gandhi was in prison because of his civil disobedience movement he could not attend it. This conference ended without achieving anything.
3/14/1993India seeks Interpol's assistance in investigating the sources of bomb blasts in Bombay.
7/3/1992Avinash Ganesh Mohadikar, journalist and former editor of magzine `Vyapar Udyog', passed away.
8/9/1942Mahatma Gandhi after announcing 'do or die' slogan alongwith 'Quit India Movement' at Bombay was arrested along with 50 others. Gandhiji was interned in Aga Khan Palace at Poona. This Do or Die slogan deep rooted in Indian hearts and resulted in nationwide Quit India Movment. This day is commemorated as ""Kranti Day"". Govind Vallabh Pant was send to Ahmednagar Jail, while Sarojini Naidu and many other leaders were also arrested.
