Historical Event on 2/13/1879
Sarojini Naidu ""Nightingale of India"", was born at Hyderabad. She was the first Governor of Uttar Pradesh. She also holds a place of pride among the women freedom fighters of India. She presided over the Kanpur session of Indian National Congress and took active part in Salt Satyagraha and represented Indian women in Round Table Conference, London, 1931.

8/6/1997	Cabinet approves a proposal to amend the Hindu Marriage Act and the Special Marriage Act, with a view to removing epilepsy as a ground for annulling marriage or for declaring marriage as null and void.
5/22/1961	Jnanpeeth Award was instituted and the first award was given in 1965. This award is given for the best creative literary writing by any Indian citizen in any of the languages included in the VIII Schedule of the Indian Constitution. The award carries a cash price of Rs 2.5 lakh, a citation and a bronze momento.

5/28/1968	Bhagwan Gopinathji Bhan, was a mystic saint of early 20th century Kashmir in India. He has been called a ""jivanmukta"" (liberated soul) or ""Aghoreshwar"" and his spiritual state has been described as ""Shambhavi Avastha"" (state of Shiva), died. He was a great devotee of Shiva and Shakti and took intense "Sadhana". His disciples and devotees set up an ashram at Kharyar in Srinagar in his name.
