Azad Hind Fauj hoisted the National Flag for the first time in North East India. On this event Bimal Roy produced the film 'Pehla Aadmi'.

3/19/1944Mian Tansen, a prominent figure of North Indian (Hindustani) classical music and famous singer of Akbar's court, died at Gwalior. Tansen is remembered for his epic Dhrupad compositions, creating several new ragas, as well as for writing two classic books on music Sri Ganesh Stotra and Sangita Sara.
